The one and only Battle of Hastings re-enactment takes place on the very spot where King Harold and Duke William fought in 1066. Don't miss 500 reenactors recreate the drama and intensity of this legendary conflict.
Venture into the encampments of the armies on either side of the historic battlefield, and come up close and personal with Saxon and Norman soldiers. Experience first-hand the intricacies of their weapons and the weight of their armour. Discover the clothes they wore and what food they ate. Watch them practise their 11th century skills and craftsmanship. Meet falconers and their majestic birds of prey, or take a wander through the market and rummage through historical delights. There's plenty for all the family to enjoy, from storytelling, music and have-a-go-archery, to becoming a Norman or Saxon soldier in mock kid-battles.
In the reenactment itself, watch a gripping battle unfold, as Norman and Saxon armies bring the story of 1066 to life.
Your ticket to The Battle of Hastings is valid for arrival any time from 10am, however event days can be particularly busy between 10am- 12pm, so you may have to queue if arriving during this time. Activities take place throughout the day.
