The blackShed Gallery can be found but a stone's throw from the A21 in a delightful rural setting on a working farm just outside the historical and pretty village of Robertsbridge. To experience a stress free, out of town gallery visit and to sample the rich array of local creative talent ensure you visit one of the upcoming exhibitions there.
The blackShed gallery surprises in many ways. It is rare to stumble across such a distinguished and professional contemporary Art gallery in such a beautiful rural setting. Its unique mission, to encourage and provide gallery space for the increasing number of artists working in studios in both Sussex downland and coastal conurbations combined with an aspirational curation policy makes it an essential feature of any ‘day out’ in the area. Metropolitan galleries just do not have the room or time to broaden the selection of exhibitions, thus blackShed is not just breaking larger cities’ monopoly on exhibiting high quality contemporary Art, but has also enriched the cultural range and appeal of 1066 country to any prospective visitor.
Head towards Robertsbridge on the A21; do not turn into Robertsbridge, stay on the by-pass. Turn into Redlands Lane (Fair Lane on google maps) just after or before the footbridge depending which direction you're coming from. Follow the lane until it splits at the Oast House and bear right, Russet Farm can be found just a few hundred yards on the right-hand side just after the dutch barns. Look out for the small blackShed signs in the hedge row.
