The Rother Wine Triangle is the first official wine trail in the Sussex Winelands, launched during English Wine Week 2025. This unique experience positions Sussex as a top destination for wine enthusiasts.
Located in the picturesque Rother Valley, the region benefits from a warm microclimate and some of the UK’s highest sunshine hours. Combined with its distinctive terroir of alluvial soils, sand, silt, clay, and sandstone ridges, the area produces award-winning wines. Expect world-class sparkling wines and exceptional still varieties, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Alsatian Pinot clones.
The trail connects six* acclaimed vineyards between Rye, Hastings, and Flimwell in East Sussex.
Participating vineyards include Charles Palmer Vineyard, Mountfield Winery, Oastbrook, Oxney Organic Estate, Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard, and Tillingham.
Visitors can explore the trail by foot or bike, enjoying cellar-door tastings, guided wine tours, dining experiences, and events amid the stunning High Weald countryside. Many vineyards offer on-site accommodation, making it easy to extend your stay and discover 1066 Country and other local attractions. Whether you complete the full trail or select sections, the Rother Wine Triangle promises an unforgettable wine tourism experience.
*Please note, the Rother Wine Triangle used to be seven vineyards. However, Carr Taylor closed to the public in Summer 2025 so it is no longer possible to visit
