1066 Country Marketing is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This accessibility statement applies to the 1066 Country website - www.visit1066country.com.
This website is run by 1066 Country Marketing. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):
WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content: Images must have alternate text - Some images and functionality buttons do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). We will always add text alternatives for images added after October 2025. When we publish new content, we’ll make sure our use of images and functionality meets accessibility standards. Our team are working their way through older images and videos on the website to add alt text and this is a work in progress.
WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value - Some of our forms do not have labels. Our team are working their way through older forms on the website to add alt text and this is a work in progress.
WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible - Keyboard focus is not available after tabbing from 'show details' in the cookie banner.
WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible - Some content and functionality of our website page is not currently accessible using a keyboard (for example, the hamburger menu, the search and favourite icons, map filter buttons).
WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible - The keyboard focus is not visible across some webpages and not fully functional on some elements of our website. This includes the Cookie Banner, some elements of the hamburger menu and favourites icon.
WCAG 1.4.4 Resize Text - Once the magnifying glass icon has been expanded, the 'Search' button is no longer visible at 200% zoom.
WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow - At 400% zoom, once expanded, content within the hamburger menu is confusing for users and keyboard focus is not clear.
WCAG 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum) - Some elements across the webpage do not have sufficient size or space between them.
WCAG 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (Minimum) - Some elements (including the search banner and hamburger menu) fail WCAG focus not obscured as elements cover links across the webpage that receive keyboard focus.
We are working with our website developers and internal teams to fix these issues and add accesibile text across our website. We last tested our website on 18th December 2025.
