1066 Country Marketing is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This accessibility statement applies to the 1066 Country website - www.visit1066country.com.
This website is run by 1066 Country Marketing. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):
WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content: Images must have alternate text - Some images and functionality buttons do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). We will always add text alternatives for images added after October 2025. When we publish new content, we’ll make sure our use of images and functionality meets accessibility standards. Our team are working their way through older images and videos on the website to add alt text and this is a work in progress.
WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships and WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value - Some of our forms do not have labels. Our team are working their way through older forms on the website to add alt text and this is a work in progress.
WCAG 1.4.10 Reflow - At 400% zoom, once expanded, content within the hamburger menu is confusing for users and keyboard focus is not clear. Work is currently being done on the hamburger menu to fix this.
WCAG 1.4.1 Use of Colour – Links must be distinguishable without relying on colour. We are currently working on this and links across our pages.
WCAG 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured (Minimum) - Some elements fail WCAG focus not obscured as elements cover links across the webpage that receive keyboard focus. Work is currently being done on the hamburger menu to fix this.
We are working with our website developers and internal teams to fix these issues. We expect to have updates on the above issues before 31st January
We last tested our website on 18th December 2025.
