Cycling

This is perfect cycling country, so bring your bike or hire one when you get here. Cruise across Rye Harbour on an eBike or get adventurous in Bewl or Bedgebury.

There is also a fantastic annual cycling festival, spread between Hastings and Bexhill and in between, featuring themed rides, events, bike clinics and much more.

Local routes

The beautiful 11-mile Cuckoo Trail runs from Polegate to Heathfield.

Take in the sights on the historic 20-mile Rye and Winchelsea Circular.

Saddle up for a gentle 24-mile Pevensey Levels and Castles Circular.

Feeling strong? The 43-mile 1066 Circular links the coastline with the woods of the Weald, and takes in almost 900m of climbing – we promise the views are worth it!

The Coastal Culture Trail connects the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne with the De La Warr Pavillion in Bexhill and the Hastings Contemporary in Hastings.
