About

Visit Hastings’ family-friendly and diverse Museum and Art Gallery for an exploration of art, heritage and history from around the world.

The fascinating 'Before Hastings' and 'Story of Hastings in 66 Objects' galleries recount the history of the area from prehistory to the Saxons and from 1066 to today.

Discover the local wildlife that you can spot in our town and countryside today and bring yourself face to face with the creatures of the dinosaurs and fossils gallery.

Explore the lives of the Native North Americans from the Plains and Sub-Arctic areas before visiting Grey Owl, the Hastings-born conservationist, linking the world of the Native Americans back to our local area.

The beautiful ceramics gallery and exciting regular temporary exhibitions in the art gallery will captivate lovers of both historical and contemporary art.

The spectacular Durbar Hall, built for the Indian and Colonial exhibition of 1886, displays a magnificent collection of culture from India, the Far East and Australasia. The adjoining gallery explores the Brassey family who collected the amazing artefacts that make up the Durbar Hall.
