About

Hastings International Piano is a registered charity that promotes an internationally-renowned piano competition that takes place every two years at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings.

It's now considered to be one of the top piano competitions in the world, and one of the only ones that asks competitors to play concertos from the first round. 40 talented pianists compete for a cash prize, expert mentoring, and the chance to perform with a world class orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

The next competition takes place between 26 February - 7 March 2026.

The charity is generously supported by Steinway & Sons. As well as running the competition, the charity also supports young artists by organising regular concerts in and around Hastings, and running a Learning & Participation programme which takes music into schools and care homes, community settings and public spaces.
