Join Battle Ramblers on a walk from Battle to Hastings Pier through High Weald countryside, via the new Combe Valley Greenway, West Marina St Leonards and arriving at the Pier.
Bring your own drink and snack, if required – stopping for 15 minutes or so somewhere with a great view of the Combe Haven Valley. Hastings has shops, pubs, tea shops and toilets - explore at your leisure after the walk – on your own way back via Hastings Station for a short rail journey back to Battle Station.
Pay parking at Battle Station or in Battle itself at Rother DC pay car parks. Trains arrive at Battle Station from both north and south at around quarter to the hour.
Battle Station has toilets; others can be found in the Abbey or Mount Street car park. Battle Town centre is only 10 minutes’ walk from the Station.
Walkers must ensure they are fit enough for the distance and have suitable off-road clothing and footwear. The leader may refuse participants who (in their opinion) are inadequately equipped or unfit. Walking in the countryside is one of the safest activities - it is the responsibility of participants to behave sensibly and minimise the potential for accidents to occur. Walkers under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
