The latest exhibition at Red Door Gallery in the heart of Rye.
Waves of Change: an exhibition of paintings of sea, shoreline and the Rye Harbour area, together with small collectables on the theme and some abstract work by Elaine Almond.
Elaine is an intuitive artist and teacher, loves colour and abstract forms and paints expressively in acrylics, inks and occasionally oils. Inspired by nature, life experiences and spirituality, the focus of this show is the sea in various moods, the local shoreline & Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. She writes: 'As human beings we connect with each other through words, feelings, experiences, and visual art can provide bridges or connections between parts of ourselves and each other. To watch the ebb and flow of the sea is endlessly fascinating and a constant, often reflecting our moods in an ever changing world.'
Elaine began to paint in 2008 and was shortlisted in the National Open Art competition in 2017. She exhibits locally, around the south east and at national art fairs, and is a member of the Pure Arts Group, Sevenoaks Visual Arts Forum and the Ginger Cactus Art Collective. This will be her third visit to the Red Door Gallery.
