As part of a three-year project, Lamb House will be redesigned to give our visitors more access to the house, the stories it contains and the writing it has inspired. This includes restoring historic panelling in the oak parlour and the King’s Room, re-displaying the collections, restoring the garden and revisiting how the stories of Henry James and EF Benson are told. Lamb House has been an inspirational environment for many authors, resulting in it also becoming a fictionalised setting for some of their most well-known books. King George I stayed there in 1726. Explore the historical significance of this Sussex treasure.
Introductory talks for groups in the garden - please arrange before your visit.
