The Magic Flute

About

One of Mozart's most popular operas directed and adapted for Opera Anywhere by Susan Moore and performed in an English Translation.

Marrying Mozart's beautiful music with a witty script the production celebrates the birth of teen culture in this tireless coming-of-age story by delving into the otherworldliness which glamorous Hollywood brought to post-Blitz London. After such austerity, Britain's youth looked to the USA for new cultural influences in music, fashion and attitude. Young women were beginning to challenge the confines of their role in society and young men wanted to reinvent themselves as the new matinee stars like James Dean or Marlon Brando.

Opera Anywhere has been bringing approachable, informal and inspired performances, featuring some of today's finest up and coming young singers, to audiences since 2000.
