With the bustle of summer over, autumn is the perfect time to enjoy free entry to the majestic castle on selected dates as part of Heritage Open Days.
Why not test your knowledge with our new free Bodiam Castle history quiz, available from visitor reception or discover the story of Bodiam Castle and the people who built, lived and worked in it through the ages on a volunteer-led castle courtyard tour on selected Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Be enchanted by tales of dragons, knights, and castles as part of storytelling on Sunday 18 September. From 11.30am-2.30pm and 15-20 minutes in length, these tales are suitable for young children and perfect short drop-in sessions for families.
On Saturday 17 September, 10.30am-3.30pm, be transported back in time with Call to Arms, a group of volunteers with a passion for history and training in Historical European Martial Arts. Dressed in full armour, they show what medieval combat may have looked like, through showing weapons and explaining techniques.
