The exhibition will feature the traditional craft of mosaic, informed by Hannah's training at the famed Orsoni, Venezia est. 1888. This series are inspired by Holbein's portraits and Hannah's passion for vintage china and up-cycling. Each piece features a different bird, meticulously made by hand cutting glass and ceramic tiles, and set within a carefully selected china plate.
As part of this exhibition, Hannah will be hosting a special, one-off workshop here on Saturday 19th October, from 10:00am - 4:00pm. She will be guiding participants through the ancient process of mosaic, using a repurposed china plate to create a portrait of your favourite bird.
Hannah will also be in residence during the exhibition, part of the gallery will be adapted as an open studio. Come along to see Hannah's working process and chat to her about her artwork and inspiration. Wednesdays and Fridays during the exhibition, 12th - 26th October.
