The second concert of the Winchelsea Arts' 10th season will take place on Sunday 7 September at 4pm, featuring music from Mozart, Puccini, Donizetti, Verdi and Rogers & Hammerstein.
Harewood Artist with the English National Opera Ava Dodd (soprano) and member of the Royal Opera Dawid Kimberg (baritone) will perform solo and duet arias. They will take the audience on a varied journey from the timeless humour of Mozart's Marriage of Figaro as Susanna and Figaro prepare for their wedding, to the devastation faced by Magda and Ruggero in Puccini's La Rondine, as they face the reality of the impossibility of a future together despite their love for each other.
Both singers have received glowing reviews; Ava's 'stirringly delivered performance marks the Irish soprano as one to watch' (Neil Fisher, The Times) whilst Dawid's performance 'met its tough...musical challenges admirably' (Rupert Christiansen, The Daily Telegraph). They will be joined by Ashley Fripp and Mark Nixon, pianists. The event is kindly sponsored by The Doggett Family Foundation.
Tickets for the concert are available through the website at £25 each for adults and under-18s free.
