Discover why our coastline is such an important habitat for helping to slow the effects of climate change and what you can do to help.
Discover all about life below the waves along our Sussex Coastline. Find out about the small, microscopic organisms that provide half the oxygen we breathe and the Kelp forests that are a nursery ground for marine life but also help to buffer against coastal flooding. In the classroom we will use VR headsets to explore this secret underwater world and look more closely at the marine life we have found using microscopes. We will finish by identifying ways we can help our Sussex Coastline.
Meeting point: Rye Harbour Discovery Centre, Rye Harbour Road, Rye Harbour, Rye TN31 7FW. Meet at the bottom of the slope outside the Discovery Centre.
What to bring: Bring wellies to wear when exploring the Saltmarsh, dress appropriately for the weather we will be spend part or all of the session outside weather dependent.
