Come and join us at the Kent and East Sussex Railway for our Wildlife and Country Fair. Trains will be running all weekend too offering endless fun for all ages.
Marvel at the majestic traction engines on display at Tenterden station - a sight not to be missed! We will play host to some lovely stallholders selling a wide range of produce/merchandise .
At Tenterden station, immerse yourself in the Wildlife and Country Fair. Explore Cecis Corner, where exquisite jewellery made of nuts awaits. Witness the ancient art of corn dollies by the Wheat Weaver of Tenterden, preserving a tradition at risk of being lost. Indulge in Mini Mouthfuls' delectable fudges and Soy Candles' aromatic delights. Engage with Tenterden Men's Sheds and Cartridge Crafts for unique handmade treasures. Discover Sussex Essentials, a homemade brand from the heart of East Sussex. Plus, delve into science kits and educational toys with Gary Polykett, and adorn yourself with beautiful jewellery crafted from pre-decimal coins by Paula Honey.
In the Wildlife Corner, hosted in the marquee, join the Tenterden Wildlife Group to admire wildlife images and learn about bees from the Bee Conservation Trust. Dive into pond dipping with Trevor Bouldon and support Thorne Hedgehog Rescue.
At Bodiam Station, witness the mesmerizing chainsaw artistry of Les Langley and the skilled walking stick craftsmanship of Julian Apps. Engage with Jill Jempson's spinning demonstrations and learn about hop picking in the local area at our Hopping Story exhibit. Explore the hop garden, experience life in a replica hopper's hut, and enjoy talks on hop picking and local history with Bodiam volunteers Vic and Colin.
Savour a selection of hot and cold food at Bodiam station's open bar while enjoying music by Sideboard Men on Saturday. Delight in the Morris dancing of 'Roses are Red' and 'Anderida Border' Morris Sides on Saturday.
