The Rye International Jazz & Blues Festival transforms the historic town of Rye into a vibrant celebration of live music over the August Bank Holiday weekend. From our seven headline concerts in the magnificent surroundings of St Mary’s Church to free live performances in the heart of the town, the festival offers something for every music lover. Whether you’re discovering a new artist, enjoying a spontaneous street performance or soaking up the atmosphere with friends, Rye provides the perfect backdrop for four unforgettable days of music, culture and community.
At the heart of the festival are seven specially curated headline concerts, featuring an exciting mix of internationally acclaimed jazz, blues, soul and roots artists. Beyond the main stage, visitors can enjoy free live music throughout the weekend at the Buttermarket, where the historic town centre comes alive with performances from emerging talent and festival favourites alike. Our popular Fringe Festival extends the music into Rye’s pubs, bars and venues, creating a unique soundtrack across the town from afternoon until late into the evening.
For those seeking a more intimate experience, the Grapevine Champagne & Jazz Bar Series offers an exclusive programme of up-close performances in one of Rye’s most atmospheric venues. Combining exceptional music, fine wines and a relaxed setting, these special events have become a much-loved part of the festival experience.
Full programme to be announced.
