Join professional photographer of 30 years, Steve Hedges, for an exclusive hands-on photography experience at the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

Shortlisted multiple times in both Outdoor Photographer of the Year and British Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Steve is renowned for his wildlife, landscape, and general photography courses across the UK. We are delighted to welcome him to the railway for the very first time.
Visit Steve's website to find out more.

With a maximum group size of just six, this intimate course ensures plenty of one-to-one guidance—perfect for mastering how to capture atmospheric and dynamic railway images.

What Your Day Includes

Your experience begins with a 7:30 am start at the Rolvenden locomotive yard—an area normally closed to the public. Here you will photograph early-morning steam-raising activity before returning to Tenterden for a light breakfast.

After photographing the locomotive in full steam at Tenterden Station, you'll board the train to Bodiam. During the journey, Steve will share expert advice and techniques tailored to railway photography. Upon arrival, you'll capture the run-around and coupling operations before returning to Tenterden, where your experience concludes at approximately 1:30 pm.
