Hastings Old Town Carnival Week

Hastings, TN34 3DW
Hastings Old Town Carnival Week bicycle race draws crowds along a narrow street lined with spectators.

About

A week of exciting events from Pram Racing to Treasure Trails, Open Houses to Walking Tours, Art Shows to Historical Talks, Live Music, Street Parties, all culminating in a Grand Carnival Procession from Saturday, 1st August 2026 to Sunday, 9th August 2026.

The Hastings Old Town Carnival began in 1968/69 when local residents started their own parade because the main town Carnival decided not to go through the old town. It has turned into a week of fun events and outgrew the original Carnival which is long gone.

Some of the major events include the Pram race, the nearly on the beach concert, the Jimmy Read memorial bike race, the Old Town Criers event, sea boot race, treasure trail, tug o'war and of course the Carnival itself. In addition, there are many interesting walks and talks and various competitions and music events. There is something for everyone and its a lot of fun.

Organised by volunteers and supporting numerous local charities, Hastings Old Town Carnival week has become a fun week for visitor and locals alike.
