Wilding in the Weald is home to a Bronze Age Settlement, which is currently being excavated by archaeologists. We are recreating some of the landscape the people back then would have lived in.
They would have been using flint (and metal) for making tools such as axes, knives and arrowheads.
This workshop on Flint Knapping at the farm with flint knapper Mike will open your eyes to how to make tools from flint that you can take away and keep after the workshop!
You will be guided to learn some of these ancient techniques, shown real artefacts from the time. Archaeologist Cameron will talk you through the findings on the farm too!
A truly fascinating day for anyone interested in history, primitive skills, archaeology and a curious mind! Everyone welcome.
