Three of Hastings’ biggest tourist attractions are promising guests an EGG-cellent time over the school holidays with fun-filled Easter trails and activities.
Visitors to Blue Reef Aquarium, Smugglers Adventure and Hastings Castle – collectively known as Discover Hastings – will have to hunt out clues and solve puzzles for the chance to win annual passes.
Blue Reef Aquarium is challenging children to hunt for the Easter eggs hidden around the centre and unscramble the magic words to be entered into a competition to win a child’s annual pass.
The aquarium has also teamed up with shark conservation charity The Shark Trust and is running a trail where guests must find hidden egg cases.
Smugglers Adventure is joining in the fun by hosting a Tubman Trail in its caverns, with those who spot the lucky Golden Egg in with a chance to win a family annual pass.
Guests can also look forward to a selection of sea shanties in the underground cave attraction, performed by local group the RX Shantymen on Saturday April 8th.
The performances at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm are included in visitor’s admission tickets and staff at Smugglers Adventure are hoping for a great turn-out.
Hastings Castle, which opened fully for the season on April 1st, is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday April 15th from 10am.
This is the second year the hunt is being held and the event was so popular last year organisers have split the hunt into two age groups – 10.15am for under five-year-olds and 10.30am for five to 12-year-olds.
Visitors are being advised to turn up early to avoid disappointment.
