About

Bexhill Choral Society presents Handel's MESSIAH

Handel's oratorio Messiah is possibly the best-known choral work in the world, regularly performed in concert halls and theatres world-wide as well as featuring in a huge number of films and TV series. It is full of wonderful and memorable tunes, with the exciting Hallelujah chorus only one of the many powerful choruses, which are balanced with dramatic and beautiful solos. While the English text is drawn from the Old and New Testaments, its themes of suffering, hope and redemption are universal, and Messiah's dramatic theatricality and range of emotional expression make it a riveting concert experience.

Bexhill Choral Society will be accompanied by the Sussex Concert Orchestra conducted by Kenneth Roberts and the soloists will be Peter Grevatt (baritone), Kristian Thorkildsen (tenor), Sarah Denbee (mezzo-soprano) and Helen May da Silva (soprano).
