Rowing on the River Rother at Bodiam Boating Station, East Sussex

Affordable, fun family days out. Tranquil river cruises to National Trust Bodiam Castle. Mess about on the river in kayaks, rowing boats, canoes and stand-up paddle boards. Stay in our small campsite; campfires encouraged. Play area for kids. Dog friendly.

Take a river cruise through the High Weald, upstream to beautiful Bodiam Castle and downstream towards Rye. Or hire your own rowing boat, kayak (single or tandem), Canadian canoe or stand-up paddleboard.

Pitch your tent, caravan or motorhome on our small rural site in this Area of Outstanding National Beauty. We have 25 pitches on a 1.5 acre plot, with wide open views and camp fires encouraged.

Visit our on-site Lime Wharf Café for a hearty breakfast, coffee and a pastry, authentic Spanish tapas and homemade burgers and salads. In summer we host regular barbecues, paella nights and live music events.

We hired a rowing boat but didn’t eat at the cafe. The river is pretty and the staff were nice. But unfortunately the place has a problem with heavy traffic accessing the aggregate yard next door. To... Read full review
