About

The New Inn was originally an 18th century coaching inn, now a family run establishment, set in the historic town of Winchelsea. Ready to greet you wilth the warmest of welcomes. We are situated right opposite the the church, with the court hall museum, as a neighbour. Whether you are looking for somewhere to stop off from a long walk, to enjoy a beer, a coffee, or perhaps you like to sit down relax and have a meal. We have an extensive beer garden and serve light snacks along with our full menu. In the winter its time to get close to the log fire and rest into the comfy armchairs with a great selection of real ales and international wines and spirits.

The New Inn menus contain a wide variety of dishes locally sourced where possible and prepared with a New Inn twist by our talented chefs. Menu choices include seafood, game and fish plus many more British pub classics cooked with great quality ingredients and culinary flair. Our Sunday lunches are legendary, choose from a selection of  roasts plus our varied specials board including steaks and fish options and delicious vegetarian choices.

We have 4 beautifully renovated rooms and all are unique. Due to the quirkiness of this 18th century building, wonky floors and low door frames are in abundance and certainly add to the charm of the building. We pride ourselves on our friendly service, comfortable rooms and delicious high quality food.

We ordered what was described as sour dough bread, a crab salad, a chowder and some chips. The bread was not in any way sour dough and it could have easily been a week old so we took one bite each... Read full review

Our family had a really enjoyable Sunday roast. The starters and mains were cooked to perfection. Excellent service and good value for money. We will be going back to the New Inn soon. Read full review
