MORNING SESSION 11.00 - 13.00: Children’s event - Future of Celluloid
"Paint Your Film" family workshops on 16mm plus screening of works produced.
Showcase of a selection of Super8 films made by children and scratch works from the SLIFF archive.
'Pick Your Classics': an audience curated session of classics in Super8 (cartoons, B-movies).
Tickets: £5 from Hastings Tourist Information Centre, Breeds Place, Hastings.
NB: An adult must accompany every child on a ratio of one adult for a maximum of three children
Spaces are limited so all tickets are sold on a first-come-first-serve basis
AFTERNOON SESSION: Placemaking, Heritage and BYO (14.00 - 18.00)
An exclusive screening of the rarely seen 1964 documentary film "A Roof of My Own" about the self-built
communities that developed in the 60's in Lima, Peru (in its uncensored 16mm original print glory) by John F C Turner followed by Q&A.
"Local Rescues: Saved from the Tip", a session of historical films from SLIFF's archive showcasing the local area.
"Projector Democracy: BYO", a session where ANYONE can show their celluloid-based masterpiece, just bring it along and we'll screen it!
NB:
This is a FREE event, and will be run on a donations basis, with all proceeds going towards our Partner Charities Hastings Lifeboat (RNLI) and Snowflake Night Shelter/Sea View Spaces are limited so all wristbands will be distributed on a first-come-first- serve basis; just turn up on the day and get your wristband
EVENING SESSION: Experimental Celluloid - Ain't we All? (19.00 - 23.00)
"The Other: WORLD", a session of world wide premieres of celluloid shorts, expanded & physical cinema, live improvised scoring.
"FROM THE WAY BACK TO THE (ALMOST) HERE AND NÖW", a 16mm retrospective of Andrew Kötting's early works, including some rarely seen gems.
