Open Days with the Story Collector

About

Join us over the May half term in our beautiful countryside setting for our Summer Open Days with The Story Collector by Out of the Bag Theatre.

Out of the Bag Theatre are our artists in residence who will add creativity and fun to your visit. There will be fragments of stories for children to discover, involve themselves in, collect, and play with. Across our grounds and museum there will be lots of areas to explore – get dressed up in the Wardrobe in the Woods; get creative in the Making Marquee; build a den in the Play Space and Maze; have a picnic on a cloud; and lots more!

Look out for The Story Collector who will be gathering ideas from the children for a story to be told every afternoon at 2:00pm.

This is an opportunity to explore our museum and to spend time in the peace and tranquillity of Rodgers Farm. Explore our private collection of antique toys, puppets and model theatre sets dating back to 18th century. Come for an hour, or for the day!

Cost
There isn't a charge per person, but there is a charge of £15 per car, so for best value it is advised to carpool with friends. If you are coming by taxi or drop off you'll still need to book but there won't be a charge.

Food
There will be a selection of savoury and sweet snacks, beverages, and cakes available to purchase from 'Food Comes First'. Please note there is no alcohol allowed on site.

Transport
The Barn Theatre and Museum is in a rural location. Parking will be available on-site. We will be offering a return shuttle bus service from Hastings Station on Saturday 31 May (departing 11am / returning 3pm). If you would like to attend on a different day and do not have transport, please get in contact with us directly.

Booking
To book a car parking space or the shuttle bus please visit here. If you don't require a parking or bus space but still plan to attend you still need to book a ticket.
