Rye Harbour Nature Reserve is largely man-made, a reconstruction of a natural place maintained by the hard work of the staff and volunteers. This installation invites the viewer to participate in the current debate around the Anthropocene – a period when human activity is the dominant influence on the environment. Are we nature? If so, why do we define it as other, and how does this alter our notion of responsibility for the management of the natural.
Jonathan Lamb is a photographer based in East Sussex who uses 3D scanning and printing to examine how landscape is constructed – on the ground, in our minds and in pictures. Jonathan's work has been exhibited internationally in Madeira and Malta as well as various exhibitions around the UK.
