'Free but Happy! Frei Aber froh!'
Johannes Brahms (1833 - 1897)
Celebrating 190 years since Brahms' birth
We are maintaining our tradition of holding the first orchestral concert of the season at the White Rock Theatre, where HPO is the orchestra in residence.
We are delighted to welcome the internationally renowned violinist Natalia Lomeiko and conductor Yuri Zhislin to share this concert with us. Both Yuri and Natalia are professors at the Royal College of Music.
Our concert programme includes Brahms' D major violin concerto, composed to showcase the virtuosic talents of Brahms' longtime friend Joseph Joachim, and Beethoven's vibrant and energetic Seventh Symphony and powerful Egmont overture.
