'Am I a harp that the hand of the mighty may touch me, or a flute that his breath may pass through me? A seeker of silences am I, and what treasure have I found in silences that I may dispense with confidence?' Khalil Gibran (1883 – 1931)
We are pleased to invite you to the first chamber recital of our 2023-2024 season. We are delighted to welcome our award winning harpist Milo Harper and the immensely talented young local flautist Daisy Noton, BBC Young Musician Woodwind Finalist 2020, in a glorious programme of duet and solo music.
These two instruments in combination evoke elegance and grace, both visually and aurally. Several composers have written a variety of music specifically for them, and other works have been arranged to bring out the best characteristics of each instrument. This promises to be an evening of wonderful tunes and virtuosic playing.
