About

Hastings Supports Refugees invites you to join them for a day of music, spoken word, food, workshops, wild swimming and more in the beautiful surroundings of Ashburnham Place, near Battle, East Sussex.

The event will formally launch Hastings as a Community of Sanctuary, part of a national movement that holds the vision that the UK will be a welcoming place of safety for all and proud to offer sanctuary to people fleeing violence and persecution.

Music from Liane Carroll, Ian Shaw, Sarah Jane Morris, King Size Slim, Los Twangeros, Samaki, Hannah Atkins, traditional Irish music from Hastings CCE and more

Spoken word from The Whole Shebang! and special guest John Hegley

Communal picnic:

The event will run from 12noon – 8pm, with a more family focused daytime session (12-4pm) and a music-focused evening session (5-8pm).
