A series of popular talks by Edward Preston exploring an in-depth history of Hastings.

4th April: Hastings Castle and Other Castles - the history of Hastings Castle and other castles in 1066 Country.

11th April: Sunday Best - an insight into the churches and denominations of Hastings, past and present.

18th April: Gone Fishing - an exploration of the local fishing industry.

25th April: Cross over the Bridge - rail bridges, road bridges and footbridges of the local area.

27th June: Postman's Knock - the postal service from the earliest days to the present.

4th July: Poetry and Prose - discover the notable writers who have lived in or visited Hastings.

11th July: Tempus Fujit - clocks in public places and some unusual time pieces... all, of course, local.

18th July: Squares, Crescents, etc - a look into the variety of interesting local street layouts.

12th Sept: Real Architecture: A look at 1000 years of Architecture in the Hastings area.

19th Sept: A Fresh View of Fairlight: There's more to Fairlight than meets the eye... a look into this ancient village.

26th Sept: King's Road and Queen's Road: Take a walk through the history of these roads.

3rd Oct: Flora and Fauna: The local wildlife of Hastings and the surrounding area.

21st Nov: The America Ground: An insight into this area; why it is so-called and what has changed.

28th Nov: Street Furniture: There is history in our streets, even beneath our feet and above us. Most often we notice it when we trip over raised paving stones.

5th Dec: From Battle Road to Battle: A walk from Silverhill to Battle, observing what is and what was.

12th Dec: A Day at the Seaside: A look at the seaside holiday and how it has changed from Victorian pastimes to now.
