The festival has been inspired by the sculpture of Edith Swanneck finding the body of her beloved Harold of the 1066 battlefield. The Victorian sculpture, which for many years was placed indoors, can today be found by the seafront of West St Leonards. Friends of Edith have worked tirelesly to protect it for the future.
