Join us for the culmination of The Wild Escape – a nationwide project for museums, schools and families to picture the future of the UK's wildlife through art and museum objects.
To mark Earth Day we are hosting a mass creation day for families. You will help create our giant land art installation featuring natural sculptures inspired by the wildlife and their habitats found in our grounds and museum. During the day there will be lots of different creative activities to get involved in, as well as wildlife talks and pond-dipping.
At 2pm our sculptures will be launched across our pond and mounted on the island to become a long lasting installation (and a new home for the ducks and wildlife that live on our pond).
The event will be led by local artist and sculptor Rebecca Child, biodiversity expert Pete the Pond, and our Arts and Education Manager, Rebecca Ainscough.
Practicalities
Refreshments will be available to purchase or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunches.
The day will go ahead whatever the weather (unless extreme conditions make the site unsafe) so please dress appropriately with outdoor wear and wellies.
The Barn Theatre and Museum is in a rural location, not served by public transport.
'The Wild Escape is made possible by lead support from Arts Council England's National Lottery Project Grants, with additional support from Art Fund'
