Begin the evening by joining our ranger for a talk and hear why Bodiam is a brilliant place for bats. Then head out around the castle parkland at sunset to learn more about the species of bat found around Bodiam Castle. There will be the chance to use three different types of bat detector to get an audible glimpse into this extraordinary nocturnal flying mammal's world.
Booking is essential for this evening event led by the Bodiam Castle Ranger Lucy Sedgwick, as part of International Bat Night. Along the walk Lucy will highlight the special castle Gatehouse Tower, which is a maternity roost for Daubenton's and Natterer's bats. There will be the chance to win some batty prizes along the way!
