Patrick Craig's talk will be about Bach and Handel-Separated at birth. 1685 was an extraordinary year for music. Two world class composers were born 130km and just one month apart. Much of their childhood development mirrored the other, but their careers took very different directions, and they never met. Patrick will reunite these two giants, with a special focus on their vocal music, which has inspired his career as both a countertenor and a conductor.
Patrick Craig is a Vicar Choral at St Paul's Cathedral. For twenty years he combined this with an international career singing over a thousand concerts with the world-renowned early music consort The Tallis Scholars. He founded and conducts this country's leading all-female professional choir, Aurora Nova. He has conducted concerts for the BBC Proms, the Brighton, Lichfield and Aldeburgh Festivals, and with the City of London Sinfonia.
