We want you to plan your visit to 1066 Country and make it as enjoyable and memorable as possible. 

Steeped in history and culture, 1066 Country has a distinctive uniqueness that surpasses others.  Established from centuries past, enthusiastic locals and keen visitors have helped shape its character ever since.  It’s not hard to see why writers, film directors, artists, inventors, musicians and architects have sought inspiration here.

Renowned for the Battle of Hastings (1066) it is also well-known for the countryside, nature reserves, SSSI Camber Sands and Green Flag parks, 1066 Country has created its own individual uniqueness.

Hastings is in the top 1% for industrial heritage and parks & open spaces, as well at the top 5% for landscape and natural heritage and for ‘culture and memories’.  (The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).
