Nestled in the picturesque Cinque Port of Rye, The Rye Bakery is an independent craft bakery and confectioner with a proud heritage in baking that stretched back to 1935.
From our home in East Sussex, we serve customers through outlets in Bexhill On-Sea, Hawkhurst, Hastings, Ore and St. Leonards as well as our main bakey and wholesale bread business in Peasmarsh. We supply freshly baked goods to local shops, restaurants and hospitality venues always made by hand, using traditional methods.
Choose from our range of artisan breads, handmade with care, and enjoy next-day home delivery or collect from your nearest outlet.
Experience Days:
At our Peasmarsh bakery, you can also take part in our experience days.
This includes our 'See the bakers' experience where you can receive an information talk from Lyndsey about our history, what types of bread we sell, our production methods and how the operation runs 24 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Complimentary Jam Doughnuts and a hot drink will be provided for you in our restaurant, and you will be able to take home samples of your days' work.
Demonstrations offer practical advice for those wishing to bake at home, along with a selection of bakery books and flour to help you on your way.
