Camping at Bewl Water offers a tranquil and picturesque escape for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Kent/Sussex countryside in Lamberhurst, Bewl Water is dog-friendly and only an hour away from London and a short 35-minute drive from the coast.

It's home to South East England’s largest reservoir, where water sports like paddleboarding and sailing can be enjoyed, and is surrounded by ancient woodlands, lush meadows, and scenic trails.

Whether you’re visiting with friends or family, pitching your tent here allows you to fully immerse yourself in the great outdoors, get back to basics and enjoy the fantastic attractions on offer.

Bewl Water’s campsite is open from 1st May – 30th September each year.

 

Pitches and facilities

There are 80 spacious pitches at Bewl Water, boasting plenty of room for children to play, dogs to run around and adults to kick back under the warm summer sun. There are quiet areas to doze, communal spaces to bond and facilities to make your stay comfortable.

Glamping

Glamping is the best of both worlds, Bewl Water’s beautifully furnished Mongolian yurts provide a luxurious camping experience. Get up close with nature and embrace the great outdoors before retreating to your very own oasis of comfort.

Bewl Water has two spacious yurts which feature:

  • One large double bed
  • Two comfortable single beds
  • Fresh linen
  • Charming rustic furniture
  • A cosy log wood burner
  • Tea and coffee making facilities
  • Outdoor seating
  • A viewpoint for stargazing

Prices per night (includes a continental breakfast):

  • £125
  • Mid-week offer: £95 (selected dates)

Activities

Nestled along the stunning Kent and Sussex border, Bewl Water spans an impressive 800 acres, with its centrepiece being a vast reservoir. While the sparkling water is undoubtedly the main draw, Bewl Water also offers a variety of land-based activities for visitors to enjoy including a scenic 12 and a half mile walking trail.

 

Food and drink

With beautiful views of the reservoir, the dog friendly Waterfront Café provides the perfect spot to refuel during your camping trip.

Treat yourself to a tempting selection of freshly made goodies, including pastries, light lunches, plenty of snacks and some hearty favourites like sausage and mash, burgers, and jacket potato.

Hot coffee is also on offer, alongside refreshing cold beverages. And if you have a sweet tooth, make sure to visit the ice cream parlour where you can enjoy shakes, slushies, and even treats for your furry friends.
