About

Embark on a live cinema adventure with The Enchanted Cinema for that seasonal favourite - The Snowman.

Imagine going to the cinema and becoming part of a pop-up orchestra who create every single sound FX and the musical score!

This year, The Snowman will take place at the Benbow Arts Space at 2 London Road due to building works taking place at the Barn Theatre and Museum.

Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th December 2025

Shows at:

- 10:30am
- 1:30pm
- 3:30pm

This fun and interactive musical workshop and film screening will feature contributions from your good elves… sorry, selves. It starts with a vocal warm-up, preparing the chorister within for the unforgettable Walking in the Air sequence.

The Enchanted Cinema performers then ask for help with sound FX for different images seen in the film (hint – there's an owl, a toothbrush, a whale, the sea, a musical box, a running tap, and a tearaway motorbike to name just a few). You'll use FX brought in by you or using your voice. The 30-min workshop is followed by a full screening of Dianne Jackson's magical animation (also 30 mins), after which audiences of all ages are invited to come up and meet the performers and even try out their instruments.
