To celebrate Hastings Pride, we're getting our collection out of the closet.
Join our Queer History Collective for a look at LGBTIAQ+ objects and stories from Hastings. With support from E-J Scott, founder of the Museum of Transology, and Home Live Art, they have been hard at work researching and designing our first ever queer history map and tour – due to launch formally in February 2023.
From the diary entries of jaunts to the south coast by queer aristocracy including Anne Lister and Derek Jarman…
To William the Conqueror's very own debaucherous linage…
To intersex ceramics…
To the all-telling taxidermy that for centuries, has preserved the queer natural order of things…
This amble down Hastings' queer history lane is sure to put the place on the pink history map, once and for all.
So book your free ticket, and be sure to bring your own stories for the Queer History Collective's outing of the collection during Hastings Pride Celebrations, 2022
