In celebration of our current exhibition, A British Museum Spotlight Loan Crossings: community and refuge, The Refugee Buddy Project will be hosting their annual Christmas fair at the museum.
From 10-3pm on Saturday 4 December, there will be craft stalls, festive snacks, and plenty of cheer. Funds raised will go to supporting those seeking sanctuary in our community.
At 3.30pm, we are delighted to host a free talk by Syrian-born, UK-based artist Issam Kourbaj, whose work, Dark Water, Burning World we have been honoured to host in Hastings as part of the Spotlight Loan. Come and hear the artist speak about his profound and poignant boat installation.
This will also be the last chance and final weekend to see the Lampedusa Cross and Dark Water, Burning World before the tour continues to other venues in the UK.
This event is free. Please book a free ticket (general admission) via www.hmag.org.uk to attend the Christmas Fair.
For the lecture you will need to register separately. Please see our website for details.
We look forward to seeing you for what is sure to be a joyful end to the year!
