Hastings Pier – Quarry Hill – Queensway – Greenway Cycle Path – Watermill Lane – Potman's Lane – A269 – Hope Cottage Farm Shop, Hooe for refreshments (16 miles arriving approx. 11:30) – Whydown – Little Common – Bexhill Promenade – Cycle Path beside the sea – Hastings Promenade – Hastings Pier.

This 23 mile (mixed surface) ride has been put on to coincide with, and arrive back for, the "1066 Cycling Festival" event organised by "Active Hastings in partnership with Active Rother" on Saturday 22/6 between 2pm and 6pm.
1066 Cycle Club are one of a few local cycling clubs providing rides, and on which non-members are welcome to join. The ride will be led by an experienced ride leader and supported by existing club members, who will ensure the everyone is kept safe and has a good time. The route has a total elevation Gain of 925 feet and Maximum Elevation of 256 feet. It is undulating, and with the exception of Quarry Hill, has no steep hills. Whist moderately challenging, it should be well within the capabilities of a reasonably fit person who regularly rides a bike. It is not a race and will be ridden at a moderate pace. It can be ridden on any type of bike but those riding light weight road bikes need to be aware that The Greenway has a gravelly but firm surface, at the end of which is a fairly short section of Byway that is hardcore and a bit rough, The surface of the cycle path beside the sea between Bexhill and Hastings is firm but also a bit rough.

Meeting place:

On the Promenade in front of the entrance gates/railings onto the Pier. The ride leader and assistants will be wearing white and blue 1066 Cycle Club jerseys.

Non-members: arrive 09:30 – 09:45.
Members: arrive 09:45 – 10:00
Depart 10:00
Return 13:30 – 14:00
