About

Hertmonceux Castle Estate and the Observatory join together to present a brand new event!

Petals & Planets begins with a tour of the beautiful gardens at Herstmonceux Castle, a freshly prepared afternoon tea featuring homemade scones with cream and jam, sandwiches, and sweet treats, served in the historic Headless Drummer pub nestled within the castle grounds.

After you've enjoyed your tea, we make our way over to the Observatory Science Centre & Museum. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn more about our history and astronomical legacy with our knowledgeable guides.

As your visit comes to a close, you can take a seat in our planetarium dome. You will be guided through the night's sky by our Observatory team and given the chance to choose where you travel in space! We can take you on a trip to Saturn, fly a little too close to the sun or enjoy a tour of Jupiter's moons.
