All are welcome to a special Community Open Day at Herstmonceux Castle Estate on Saturday 11 April 2026. Discover the castle and grounds, and hear about the exciting projects shaping the estate's future. The day begins with a welcome session led by the Principal of Queen's University, followed by short talks covering estate updates, rewilding plans, future developments at The Observatory Science Centre, the nationally recognised water lily collection, and new academic programmes.
Families can enjoy children's activities including games, dressing up, and nature spotting, while refreshments will be available from the Nuthatch Kitchen and Terrace. Presentations start at 10:30am, with grounds open from 9:30am. Admission and parking are free, but spaces for talks are limited—advance registration is recommended.
