Step beyond the famous events of 1066 and discover the rich history, folklore and stories of Hastings Castle with local guide and castle key holder, Urs. Running throughout the summer on weekends, these engaging tours offer a fascinating introduction to one of England's most iconic historic sites.
A qualified firefighter, forest school teacher and the giant carrier for Hastings' renowned Jack in the Green celebrations, Urs brings a unique perspective to each tour, blending historical insight with local traditions and modern-day culture. As you explore the castle grounds, you'll uncover centuries of history and gain a deeper understanding of Hastings' enduring heritage.
Visitors consistently praise Urs' engaging storytelling and wealth of knowledge, making these tours an enjoyable experience for both first-time visitors and local history enthusiasts alike.
Tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays from 18 July to 27 September 2026, with departures at 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
