Out on the Nature Reserve we'll introduce young learners to the birds that visit us for the winter and create a nesting ball.
Course tutor: Aimi Rifat, Wilder Learning and Communities Officer
Learn about the Winter Birds at Rye Harbour through practical activities on the reserve, find out how they are adapted to living on the Saltmarsh and why they migrate here for the winter. We will go to the bird hide and learn to identify the wading birds using binoculars in the bird hide. We will then return to the classroom to create a nesting ball and find out others ways to help birds.
Suitable for children aged 5 to 10 years, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Meeting point: In the classroom at the Discovery Centre. See our website for how to find us. The Centre sits within the nature reserve and houses a cafe, gift shop and public toilets, free wifi is available.
