Explore the beach and learn about the wildlife on our coastline, how the tides work and create some beach art.
Get out and explore our beautiful shoreline learn about tides and time on the beach through a series of fun activites. We will also look at how waves affect our coastline and create some beach art. While beachcombing we will search for shells and mermaids’ purses along the strandline, identify the treasures we have found and learn about their life cycle. We will end with a beach clean as a way of thank you to our beach.
Suitable for children aged 5 to 10 years, who can be accompanied by a parent or guardian who doesn’t need to book a ticket.
Location: Meet at the outdoor seating area just next to the Discovery Centre.
What to bring/wear: Please wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear, and sun protection, for the weather conditions. Price includes a drink and a sweet treat. The Lime Kiln café at the Centre will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm for refreshments and lunch.
Accessibility: We will use accessible paths on the reserve but we will spend most of the time on a shingle beach with uneven ground. Our toilet facilities will be available, if needed, at the beginning and end of your session.
