Creative Writing Competition for Key Stage 1, KS2 and KS3 Children
Hastings Museum & Art Gallery hosts the annual #ATownExploreABook creative writing competition and invites you to visit and search for a painting or object that represents a journey – what words come to mind when you look at it? Write them down or record them to use as a starting point for your creative writing.
Submit up to 150 words of creative writing by 28 March 2023 at atownexploresabook.com/2023-competition
#ATown ExploresABook23 is a reader-led festival of creative responses to a heritage book in St Leonards on Sea. The book choice for 2023 is Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Many Lands by Mary Seacole.
Describe a JOURNEY inspired by Wonderful Adventures of Mrs Seacole in Many Lands
Mary Seacole was a medical practitioner, business woman and traveller. She is best known for her journey to Crimea in the 1850s. This festival marks the 200th anniversary of her first solo journey from Jamaica to London as a teenager.
