Bexhill loves to dine out and there’s no need to leave town to sample menus from around the world. Start with a full English on the seafront at the Sovereign Light Café. Follow that with lunch at the seaside bar and bistro Rocksalt and supper in Picassos, Driftwood or the Wickham Bistro. Traditional seaside fayre of fish and chips can be found at Minnie Bertha’s opposite Bexhill Sailing Club (if it’s raining take it next door to enjoy with a glass of wine in Kerry’s Wine Bar). The Beach Hut is a cool kiosk full of home bakes and hot sandwiches cooked to order, to be enjoyed looking out to sea from a wooden balcony on the beach.
Take home a taste of the seaside after a trip to The Angry Whelk for fresh fish and seafood or H&H Confectioners for old-fashioned sweets made on the premises. Discover Bexhill
The town’s B&Bs defy traditional seaside stereotypes. Stylish, contemporary and full of character, Coast B&B, Driftwood and Seaspray Rooms, to name just a few, are fast becoming mini destinations in themselves.
Despite the feeling of seclusion, it's easy to get here by rail, sea or road.
