Visit the Hastings Embroidery, on display May – October 2019
A unique opportunity to view the historic Hastings Embroidery, out of storage after decades.
The embroidery rivals the Bayeux Tapestry in scale, depicting major events in British history from 1066 to 1966 and consists of 27 panels.
It was created by the Royal School of Needlework and commissioned to commemorate the 900th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings in 1966.
The embroidery will be on display at Bridge Point, Rye for six weekends between May and October. It will be accompanied by a unique, specially commissioned pop-up installation piece by artist and director Tim Hopkins.
